“She was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. We didn’t really have a place to stay either, because her and my dad were going through a separation. But she still found a way to get us to school, to soccer practice and help us maintain our grades. I ended up with a full scholarship because of her pushing us, regardless of her going through her treatments. She was very instrumental in me being a dentist today. I couldn’t have done it without my mom.”
