"It’s been crazy, because I am a bartender at Chili’s, so I do experience a variety of people… We had to shut down for a little bit, only do to go. Since I was one of the lead bartenders and I’ve been working there for so long, they decided to put me on to go. I was doing that for a little while… for like only a month because Kemp wanted to open back up. We opened right back up and it was just interesting to see people’s beliefs on masks. It’s not that difficult."

"When the civil rights movement was coming through and they were protesting in St. Petersburg, used to come down fifth avenue by my grandparents’ house. We always wanted to go because we thought it was a big thing, so we would sneak out and join the march. Then we got back home, we got our butt tow up. But then we found out later why they were marching, and we started seeing Dr. Martin Luther King on television and it was an ooo and ahhh moment. I remember in 5th grade when he was assassinated. His speech, ‘I Have a Dream’, still brings chills through your body. Wonder where would we be if he was still here, right? Every day I tell my kids, my grandkids, let’s keep his hope alive, what he fought for.”
